FNF Nocturnal Protocol Mod

The Myths of Tubbyland Slendytubbies Recreation is an FNF Nocturnal Protocol Mod.Myths of Tubbyland Slendytubbies Recreation is a mod for FNF Nocturnal Protocol. FNF Nocturnal Protocol is a fan-made (mod) rhythm game for Friday Night Funkin’ that is dedicated to recreating the Nocturnal Protocol song from the Myths of Tubbyland mod, as well as bringing its dark visual style from the Slendytubbies horror series. The Guardian faces off against players in a single track game with a close attention to note timing and a dense, atmospheric soundtrack.

Where the FNF Nocturnal Protocol Mod Comes From

The recreation was put together by modder GammamonNiro. It’s inspired by the Nocturnal Protocol song which was originally composed by Sanco the Fox for the larger mod that takes Friday Night Funkin’ and the lore of Slendytubbies, a fan horror mod of the Teletubbies universe.

The whistling part of this track is a direct reference to the original Slendytubbies “A Walk in the Park” trailer. Part of what makes that song resonate with fans, is this nostalgia hook.

What are some things that players have to deal with?

The adversary here is the one and only Guardian: a white teletubby figure with a flashlight, straight out of the Slendytubbies storyline. In his universe things go sideways and Tinky Winky gets corrupted, leaving him to watch over the teletubbies for a sinister group. In the mod he is a weighty rhythm player whose stance and animations are hard even to say are reminiscent of some ceremony.

The song itself is darker than most FNF songs. Heavy bass, slow build and a whistling reference throughout. The fan recreation has been developed with Psych Engine 1.0.4, the recommended method for playing it.

How the FNF Nocturnal Protocol game works?

If you’ve played any Friday Night Funkin’ mod in the past, this loop will sound familiar. Arrows move upwards on the screen, and you strike the arrows at the right time to the beat of the music. If you miss more than one consecutive, you lose. The difficulty lies in reading the chart clearly, while the images attempt to fool you.

The reason Nocturnal Protocol is different from the dozens of other FNF mods that are floating around is not a new mechanic, but the mood. The Slendytubbies style lends the entire thing a horror-game feel, which most rhythm games don’t have.

Multiple Endings to Chase

In the mod there are over one ending depending on the outcome of the match. This is why it’s worth playing again. Run through the song thoroughly and get a different finish than if you struggle to finish.

Who It’s For

For those who already follow the modding scene of Friday Night Funkin, this will be the most interesting, as the mentions of Myths of Tubbyland and the original Slendytubbies games will resonate when you know the source material. That is, there is no need to have all of that behind you to enjoy the rhythm gameplay. The song is good as a stand-alone track.
