To Change Password On Windows 10 Of Your Microsoft Account In Settings App

Step 1. First, you open Settings, then press on the Accounts icon.

Step 2. You press on the Sign-in options on the left side. Then you scroll down to the Password section and you press the Change button to change the password to Windows 10 (see picture below).

Step 3. You type in the current password of your Microsoft account, then you press on Next. (see picture below).

Step 4. At this step, you will type in your current old password and type in a new password, then you press on Next. (see picture below).

Notes: Your passwords for a Microsoft account must have at least 8 characters and contain at least two of the following: numbers, symbols, uppercase letters and lowercase letters.

Step 5. Finally, you can sign in into Windows 10 with your new Microsoft account password. You click on Finish and your’re done (see picture below).

To Change Password Windows 10 Of Your Local Account In CTRL+ALT+DEL secure screen

Step 1. If you’re signed into Windows 10 with a local user account and now you want to change your password to Windows 10, you press the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys to open the secure screen.

Step 2. You press on Change a password (see picture below).

Step 3. You will type in your current old password and type in a new password, then click Enter or click on the arrow. (see picture below).

Step 4. You press on OK and your’re done (see picture below).

To Change Password Windows 10 Of Your Local Account In Settings App

If you’re signed into Windows 10 with a local user account and you want to change password Windows 10.

Step 1. You open Settings, then you click on the Accounts icon.

Step 2. You press on Sign-in options on the left side, then press on the Change button under Password (see screenshot below).

Step 3. You type in your current password, and press on Next (see picture below).

Step 4. You type in a new password and password hint, then you press on Next (see picture below).

Step 5. You press on Finish (see picture below).

To Change Password In Windows 10 Using Command Prompt

You must be signed into as an administrator to be able to do this method. This method should only be used if you has forgotten your password Windows 10, and you don’t have a password reset disk.

Step 1. You open an elevated command prompt.

Step 2. In the elevated command prompt, you type the command below and hit Enter.

net user “UserName” *

Note: Substitute UserName in the command above with the actual user name of the local account within quotes that you want to change password Windows 10.

Step 3. When prompted, you type a new password and hit Enter, retype the new password to confirm and hit Enter, and then go to step 4 below.
